Part 2 of Ardèche from the air

The Ardèche, seen from the air (part 2), reveals a breathtaking and varied landscape, punctuated by emblematic sites and natural treasures. After flying over the Gorges de l’Ardèche and the Pont d’Arc, the 2nd part of our flight takes us over the Dent de Rez, majestically dominating the Rhône valley.

Gras and Alba la Romaine from the air

We then fly over the charming villages of Gras, Valvignère and Alba la Romaine, with its museum, bearing witness to the region’s rich history. We discover Saint Pons, nestling in the heart of the green hills, before admiring the basaltic flows of the Coiron, evidence of past volcanic activity.

Mirabel, a village of character seen from the sky

Mirabel is a village of character perched on a lava flow. This charming hilltop village offers uninterrupted views over the surrounding valley. Its picturesque narrow streets and stone houses bear witness to its rich medieval past. The Château de Mirabel, although partly in ruins, adds a touch of history to this idyllic setting. The foothills of the Coiron offer spectacular views, with the Gourdon rock standing proudly in the landscape.

Mont Gerbier de Jonc from the air

We then fly over Lachamps Raphaël, where the hills of the Ardèche stand like sentinels, before reaching Mont Gerbier de Jonc, the majestic and imposing symbol of the Ardèche. Mont Gerbier de Jonc, in the Ardèche, is an emblematic volcanic mountain culminating at 1,551 metres. Recognisable by its conical shape, it is home to the source of the Loire, France’s longest river. This exceptional natural site attracts many hikers and geology enthusiasts. The surrounding countryside offers panoramic views of the mountains and valleys of the Ardèche. In winter, the summit is often covered in snow, adding to its majestic beauty.

This aerial view offers a unique perspective on the diversity and striking beauty of the Ardèche, a real feast for the eyes.
