Idyllic working conditions in a dream environment
Imagine your working conditions. When you look up from your desk, you can see the village’s medieval castle in front of you, with the snow-capped Cévennes in the background. And yet we’re only 250m above sea level in a Mediterranean climate. The movement of the few clouds creates a veritable dance of shadows on the ground. Birds that haven’t migrated come regularly and feast on seeds from a dispenser hanging in the branches. Chickadees, finches, woodpeckers, blackbirds and goldfinches brighten your day. Bee-eaters and black kites (some of which spend the winter in the Ardèche) regularly fly over the property. At night, the tawny owl lands and sings beside the house. After the winter season, the migratory birds return. The magnificent European oriole nests on the property. The Philomena nightingale has one of the most beautiful songs. The kestrel (which nests in the village itself) comes to hunt on the estate. Its favourite prey is the green lizard. The little owl sings every night. The circaetus, a magnificent eagle that feeds mainly on snakes, regularly flies over the pool. And so on.
Among the mammals, a wild rabbit has taken up residence in the grounds and can be seen every day, a weasel follows it fairly closely and a fox dreams about it day and night. A weasel follows it quite closely, and a fox dreams of it day and night. A weasel and a genet would also like to have it on their menu. For the moment, however, the rabbit remains at home. A red squirrel occasionally wanders by the pool. Deer are nearby. Other as yet unidentified animals leave tracks on the ground of the property, which covers more than 2.5 hectares.
In short, it’s hard to imagine better working conditions!!!
