Electric car charging point

To recharge your electric car, Mas de la Fontenette offers two options, depending on your preference: a 20-amp socket in our private car park or, in the centre of the village, a 22kw ultra-fast charging point.

20 amp socket for electric car charging

You can recharge your electric car using a dedicated external socket (20 amp). It looks like a conventional socket, but has a higher charging capacity: 3.2kw. This means you can recharge a 40 kW battery overnight. A special meter measures consumption, which will be billed to you at EDF cost

Frequently asked questions about recharging electric cars

The answer depends on the size of your battery as well as the size of your charging point. This time varies from 30 minutes to ½ day. The charging time required is equal to the capacity of your battery divided by the capacity of the charger. For example, if your battery has a capacity of 50 kWh and is connected to a 20 kW charger, the recharging time will be 50/20 = 2.5 hours.

Once the battery’s charge reaches 80%, the charging speed slows considerably to prevent overheating and protect the battery. Charging the remaining 20% may take as long as charging the first 80%.
