Labeaume, a village full of character in the Ardèche, enchants visitors with its picturesque atmosphere and rich preserved heritage. On the banks of the River Baume, near Ruoms, this superb village of character is surrounded by cliffs once carved with troglodytic caves. At the top of this rocky spur stands a fortified house, overlooking the remains of the old castle and the seigniorial mill. The houses, built of pebbles extracted directly from the river, are intertwined in the rock. They are squeezed together along narrow, winding calades, little passageways that form a veritable labyrinth.
