The Pissevieille canyon, located in the Ardèche department of France, defines a natural treasure. It offers visitors an unforgettable experience in the heart of a spectacular, unspoilt landscape.

A small, steep canyon

At the bottom of the Tiourre valley, with its steep rock faces, imposing cliffs and crystal-clear waters, the Pissevieille canyon is a majestic sight for those who dare to venture into its depths. The canyon’s unique geological formation, sculpted over the centuries by the erosion of water and wind, makes it a site of remarkable beauty. Visitors can admire the fascinating rock formations, majestic waterfalls and natural pools that dot the landscape.

Canyoning in the Pissevieille canyon

White-water enthusiasts will be delighted to discover the canyoning possibilities offered by the Pissevieille canyon. It can be descended either dry or just after a Cevenol episode. This magnificent canyon is little-known, but does require a certain amount of technical equipment, especially as it ends with a waterfall over 80 metres high.

Majestic and impressive, the Cascade de Pissevieille only flows for a few days a year, during very heavy rainfall, before emptying into the Ardèche gorges. Situated at the bottom of the Tiourre valley, it is only half an hour’s walk from the Route Touristique des Gorges de l’Ardèche. It’s a wonderful place for hiking.
