The Tour de la Reine Jeanne in Balazuc

The Tour de la Reine Jeanne (Queen Jeanne’s Tower) in Balazuc is an ancient lookout post built in the Middle Ages to watch over the road to Uzer through “les Gras”. Its name is said to reflect the fame of Jeanne de Balazuc in the late 16th century. The memory of this very strong woman has long left its mark throughout the Bas-Vivarais. This tower is private and cannot be visited.
